Course: CCTV (PSS)

This course has been designed to produce professionally trained CCTV operators, who monitor an area which is defined as Public Space Surveillance, to detect and deter crime. It is structured to be delivered over a four day period, however it can be tailored to meet the needs of the client; This course meets the core competency skills requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and is accredited by the BIIAB; this course is fully endorsed by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority.


Courses are held on a regular basis at ETS. Courses can also be held at a clients premises provided advanced warning is given.

Who Should Attend?

This course is appropriate to new entrants to the industry; people transferring from other security functions, those with jobs including some elements of CCTV (PSS) surveillance and existing security staff requiring a qualification, in order to apply for an SIA licence.

Course Content

The course contains nine modules, covering the following areas:


CCTV (PSS) consists of three Examinations, two of which are multiple-choice questions which will be sat under exam conditions. The third exam is a practical which is set in the CCTV control room.
